To support youth serving organizations in creating safe and inclusive spaces for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender youth through training, technical assistance, program development and evaluation.

Our vision is that all youth are able to live, learn, and develop in safe and affirming environments regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression.
The Queer Youth Project (QYP) was founded in Washington, DC through partnership with individuals and members of the local non-profit and foundation community to support youth serving organizations, youth workers, and private citizens in creating safe and affirming environments for LGBTQ youth in the District of Columbia and the Washington Metropolitan area.
The Queer Youth Project has two primary goals:
- Support the creation of culturally competent youth programming that is intentionally inclusive of LGBTQ youth.
- Provide training and technical assistance to youth serving organizations and youth workers to increase their capacity to create safe and affirming spaces for LGBTQ youth.
